Zeus™ Coated CT PICC r4 Vascular’s Zeus Coated CT PICC is the first coated PICC on the market, and the first non-valved saline–maintainable PICC. The Zeus Catheter Biomimetic coating allows heparin–free maintenance, and reduces thrombus accumulation.
Heparin–free saline lock of the catheter potentially reduces allergic reaction, heparin induced thrombocytopenia, simplifies catheter maintenance, and reduces overall cost of care. r4 Vascular’s Biomimetic coating demonstrates reduced thrombus formation compared with uncoated PICCs.1 Biomimetic coating does not change over time. The PICC lasts longer because thrombosis occlusion is reduced and less pressure is required to clear thrombus. Zeus Catheter’s Biomimetic coating does not include antibiotics. Research has documented potential for allergic reaction, and development of resistant strains of bacteria from antibiotic catheter coatings.2 Zeus Catheters are available in single and dual lumen configurations. The power injection line on the dual lumen catheter is an important adjunct for injection of fluids like contrast media for diagnostic imaging. Increased flow rate for contrast media injection enables higher resolution imaging. The multiple lumen design of r4 catheters helps to reduce needle sticks for greater patient comfort and fewer access procedures by the clinician and caregiver. r4 PICC’s incorporate a novel hub that allows the clinician to suture anywhere along the patent pending hub. It is also compatible for use with sutureless systems for securing placement. This is a small feature that simplifies catheter placement, and gives r4 Vascular’s PICC distinct adaptability in a wide range of placements. All catheters 18 gauge lumen size. Catheter only with pre–loaded stylet
